  • 250 grams of Winnie’s Pure Health Honey

  • 500 grams of Ugali Afya maize flour

  • 5 Winnie’s Pure Health Organic Eggs

  • 50 ml milk

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease or line two 7-inch baking pans (8-inch pans work as well)
  • In a bowl, mix together maize flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter or ghee with Winnie’s Pure Health Honey, then add milk. Mix continuously until smooth and well combined
  • Add the eggs one at a time and vanilla essence, mixing well after each addition until the batter is soft and consistent
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula or whisk. Do not overmix to maintain a light, airy texture
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pans. Bake for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. (Baking times may vary depending on your oven)
  • Allow the cakes to cool slightly before slicing. Serve plain or with your favorite light topping
