Njahi Soup


  • 2 cups Winnie’s Pure Health boiled Black Beans (Njahi)

  • 1 cup potatoes

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1 chopped green pepper

  • 1 chopped red pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon Winnie’s Pure Health Afya Mchuzi

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1/2 teaspoon Winnie’s Pure Health Herbal Salt

  • 3 cups water


  • In a cooking pot heat the oil and fry the onion until translucent, add in the garlic, peppers and cook for two minutes
  • To the pot add potatoes, Winnie’s Black Beans, cumin, black pepper, Herbal Salt, Afya Mchuzi, bay leaves and stir well to combine and let the flavors infuse
  • Add 3 cups water and let the soup simmer for 20 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove the bay leaves and let it cool for 10 minutes before blending so that it does not splash. (You can add more water if you want your soup runny)
  • Blend until smooth and serve
