Mshenye (Sweet Potato and Bean Mash)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiled, hot Winnie’s Pure Health Yellow Beans

  • 2 medium peeled and cubed sweet potatoes

  • 1/2 teaspoon Winnie’s Pure Health Herbal Sea Salt

  • 3 cups water

Directions

  • In a cooking pot add the sweet potatoes, water and salt and bring this to a boil. let it simmer until the sweet potatoes are soft and drain off the remaining water but save some if needed
  • To the sweet potatoes, add in the cooked yellow beans and mush using a masher until well combined. If the mixture gets too dry, add a little of the remaining water drained from the sweet potato
  • You can serve the mshenye with a stew of your choice or enjoy it with tea
