Marble Cake

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of ghee/butter

  • 250 grams of Winnie’s Pure Health Honey

  • 300 grams of Winnie’s Pure Health Chapati Afya/Atta mark 1 flour

  • 5 Organic Winnie’s Pure Health Eggs

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • 50ml milk

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ¼ cup of water

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and line 2 medium loaf pans
  • Mix the flour and the baking powder in a bowl and set aside
  • Cream the ghee/butter and honey slightly with a hand mixer or a whisk and add milk. Cream continuously until well combined
  • Add in eggs one at a time and vanilla essence. Mix until combined to a smooth consistency
  • Fold in the dry ingredients with a whisk or spatula and do not over mix
  • Mix cocoa powder with water until smooth. Add the cocoa mixture to the flour mixture and fold in thrice cutting through the mix
  • Pour the butter into the loaf pans and bake in the oven for 55 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (Cooking time may vary depending on the oven)
  • Remove from the oven to cool after inserting a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean
