Ugali with Omena

  • 350 grams Winnie’s Pure Health Ugali Afya

  • 2 liters water

  • 450 grams of omena

  • ¼ teaspoon Winnie’s herbal sea salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 red tomatoes

  • 1 onion

  • 1 coriander

  • 1 green pepper

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

  • 1 teaspoon Winnie’s Pure Health Herbal Mchuzi


  • Ugali Afya
  • Boil 1 liter water in a cooking pot. Stir in the Ugali Afya slowly
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and continue stirring regularly, smashing any lumps that may form with a cooking stick
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes until it does not sick to the sides of the pot
  • Using the cooking stick, form a desired shape. Tip out your Ugali onto a serving bowl and set aside
  • Omena
  • In a cooking pot, boil omena in 1 liter of water for 10 minutes, remove from the fire and drain all the water from the sufuria and wash the omena twice with warm water
  • Chop the onion, tomatoes, green pepper into small cubes and set aside. Chop the coriander and set it aside on a different container
  • In a pan fry the onions till golden brown
  • Add the omena and stir well. Add the salt and pepper, stir evenly
  • Add the tomatoes, coriander, and green pepper. Stir well and cover till tomatoes are well cooked
  • Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 15 minutes
  • Serve when hot with Ugali Afya
