Apple Pie

  • 8-10 medium apples, thinly sliced

  • 3 tablespoons Winnie’s Pure Health Honey

  • 3 tablespoons Winnie’s Pure Health Chapati Afya

  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon Winnie’s Pure Health Sea Salt/Herbal Salt

  • 2 tablespoons butter, diced

  • 1 Winnie’s Pure Health Egg White + 1 tablespoon water

  • Double pie crust made with Winnie’s Pure Health Chapati Afya/ Atta Mark 1


  • In a bowl, add the sliced apples. Add the honey, flour, cinnamon and salt and toss gently to combine well
  • Roll out and place an uncooked pie crust in the bottom of a deep 9-inch pie plate
  • Place the apple mixture in the pie shell. Place the small pieces of butter on top of the apple mixture
  • Top with the second pie crust, crimp the edges and then cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to vent
  • Mix the egg white with water in a small bowl and then brush the top with the water
  • Bake at 230 degrees Celsius for the first 15 minutes then reduce to 175 degrees Celsius and continue for 30-40 minutes
  • Cool the pie for 10 minutes; serve
