Winnie says…

It took me most of my life time to understand what true Gratitude is and how Gratitude can give someone peace which is far beyond human understanding.  Not too many Saturdays ago, I was in Gachoka, a village in Mbeere District to meet a group of elderly people whom I call

“ Mashujaa Wa Yesu” and support as part of my Christian Ministry work. Now, when I started greeting and asking them how they were, the majority responded with miserable looking faces and emotions of helplessness with statements such as…My back is aching, …my arms are stiff, my legs are…, my blah!blah!blah! is paining. They appeared to have mastered their painful body aching responses. Well I said to them, THANK YOU GOD!! AT LEAST YOU ARE ALL WELL!! They looked at me in a puzzled way as if I had “lost net-work” and not heard their painful state of life.

Gratitude is one of the most important thing you can give in your life second to love.

The Bible tells us: –

“Be joyful always, Pray at all times. Be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Early this year, I experienced a lot of pain on my neck and I was even informed by the doctors that I needed a fixation surgery. During one of the nights, I woke up at about 2 am with a pain I had never experienced before in my life. However, out of God’s grace, the Holy Spirit informed me to give Gratitude to God and I simply started saying: –

Thank you, God! that in my life I have never experienced this kind of pain before.

Thank you, God! that I was able to eat dinner.

Thank you Lord! I have beautiful hair!

Thank you, God! that I can hear, see and talk!

Thank you Lord! I am alive.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I had so much to thank the Lord for that in the process of my counting my blessings that night, I fell asleep and when I woke up the following morning, I was free of pain.

Do you really give Gratitude to God or do you only say Thank you when someone does something good for you or when you “miraculously” escape some trouble?

Gratitude is the key to wellness. If you are feeling stressed, depressed or generally unhappy and un-fulfilled, it is because you are not giving Gratitude.

Are you giving gratitude for your job?

Are you thanking God for creating people who have invented telecommunications?

Do you thank God that you have a mobile phone?

Do you thank God for matatus?

Do you thank God for the people who clean the toilets?

Do you thank God for the farmers?

Do you thank God for doctors and nurses and everyone in hospitals?

Do you thank God for the people who provide security services like the police and army?

Do you thank God for the people who ensure we have water to drink, bath etc?

Do you thank God for your house help?

Do you thank God for the manufacturers, those who have retail shops, your land lord, tax collectors etc? The blessings are endless.

How about your body? Do you REALLY give GOD gratitude for your teeth, legs, kidneys, nails, intestine, colon, fat, muscles, bones etc

Are you busy focusing on what you think is not right with your body?

Dear Loving Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that you open my spiritual eyes and heart so I may see and give Gratitude for the seen and unseen blessings you have given me. Amen!

Every morning and last thing in the evening before you fall asleep, start thanking God for the body He has given you starting from your toes, feet, legs, thighs, hips, colon, kidneys, pancreas, hands, stomach, intestines, lungs, heart, throat, ears, eyes, nose, scalp, hair, teeth etc.

The more you give Gratitude to God, the more you will experience miracles of your wellness.
